I always loved Releases Movies. I know that being new does not necessarily make a better movie, but it's still so easy to get excited by a movie that has only appeared in the theatre. I especially love seeing new release movies on opening day. Everyone is so happy and excited to be there. You can tell by the energy. Laugh at all the jokes, wheezing, in all the scary scenes and sometimes even cry. Everyone seems to react as a whole, as if you're in a football game or some other type of public spectacle. A movie rarely feels like a show anymore, but he still makes on opening day.
Sometimes, releases films will seem fun and enjoyable just because they are new. For example, Transformers the movie wasn't really my kind of movie. I recognise that it was well done and everything, but I'm not usually in action films. However, because I saw when I was a new release movie, loved it. The theatre was so full of people of my generation who grew up in the Transformers cartoon, and everyone was psyched to see it as a live-action film. It is easy to animate with the heroes, when the movie has just come out and everyone is happy to see it.
The funny thing is, if I do not see a new movie release opening weekend, I usually tend to wait until it comes out on video. I'm very thrifty with how I spend my entertainment dollars, so if I can't have the thrill of seeing it with a crowd that will react, I'll just wait a few months before the DVD. Still, if I can play some of my friends in putting up with the lines and packed theaters, you will see me there for the first view. I hate to admit it, but sometimes I even skip work to release movies. I'm sure that'll be the death of me – a day that I'll be spotted by a boss or co-worker when I should be working – but until then, I'll go by enjoying myself.
Still, I think I forgot to mention the best part of releases Movies. I have always loved watching trailers for upcoming features more than even the film itself. It's nice to see him far ahead of time so you can start creating anticipation. Months later, when this movie actually comes out, I'm always so excited to see it.
