My daughter has been entering beauty contests for a long time. I'm not one of the parents who pushes her to he wants. It was all your idea. She has always enjoyed playing dress-up, and dressing in beauty contest dresses is kind of emotion to it. She loves to have people look at it, and this gives you a healthy outlet for that.
I have to admit that I like to look at beauty pageant gowns with her. I wasn't a big fan of beauty pageants. they seem too much stress. My daughter cannot insist on them, but like his father, I do. Its makeup has to be just right, your routine has to be perfect, and only one slip up could cause it to do evil, that really it stresses out. The only part that is stress free for me is choosing the dress of beauty contest.
What is interesting is the little beauty pagent dresses changed over the years. My sister used to love competing in beauty pageants, and I still remember that dress that she wore. They are very similar to my daughter's dresses. It's good to see that this world-changing fashions, some things remain constant.
Don't get me wrong, there are innovations. Firstly, what is appropriate for beauty pageant dresses has changed considerably over the years. Gone are the days when modesty was the big thing. In this day and age, you may feel free to take some risks with a dress of beauty contest. It doesn't have to be ankle-length or anything else. You can use your own discretion.
Even so, for a beauty contest winner, my daughter tended to have fairly conservative tastes. I really never have to discuss with her about what beauty pageant gowns are appropriate and which are not. We always seem to kind of agree with it. Sometimes we don't have the same taste, of course, but that doesn't mean that it becomes a struggle. Usually we find some way to get the understanding and choosing the right dress for the occasion.
I've known many parents who get stressed buy prom dresses, pageant dresses or other special clothes for their children. I never understood where they're coming. For me it was always such an easy turning planned experience. I guess I'm lucky that way.
